Primero RE-2 Employee Benefits

Full time employees are provided single health, dental and life insurance, with premiums fully paid by the Board of Education, less a $1.00 per month employee contribution. Our current medical care insurer is CEBT-HRH. Our current dental care insurer is Blue Cross-Blue Shield. Our current life insurance provider is Fortis Insurance.

Current (not new) employees employed before the 2007-2008 school year may opt into family coverage with benefit ranges from 30 - 50% of the cost, depending on number of years of service in the district. New employees hired for 2007-2008 and after may purchase family coverage at their own expense, at the same rates currently available under our group insurance plan.

The Board pays required employer contributions to the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA) in lieu of Social Security payments.

Certified Faculty receive 12 sick days plus one personal day per year. Classified Staff receive one sick day per month.

Employee housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the following subsidized cost:

The District owns six houses located on the east side of our campus. Currently, all district housing is occupied. The district maintains contacts with local landlords and can assist new employees with finding suitable housing.

As part of the Building Project, eight new employee housing units will be constructed between July 1, 2008 and January 1, 2009, including four duplexes with two units each. Four units will be two bedroom/two bath units and four units will be three bedroom/two bath units.
