Substitutes

Our substitute pay rates for 2007-08 are:

• $100/day for certified teacher substitutes who hold a 3 or 5 year substitute license or a regular teaching license in Colorado. Long-term substitute teachers in excess of nine weeks (one quarter) will be given an increase to $110/day.

• $75/day for classroom teacher aides and secretary substitutes

• $7.50/hour for custodian or food service substitutes

Fingerprinting is required for all applicants unless you were fingerprinted as part of an official license application with the Colorado Department of Education. The Trinidad Police Department conducts fingerprinting for $5.00 and will scan your fingerprints onto a card that they provide. You will need to bring a money order for $39.00 made out to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to send at the time of your fingerprinting.

Substitute Applicants, both new and returning, must attend an in-service or will need to arrange an appointment with the Principal or Superintendent prior to working in the district.

NOTE: The Primero School District requires substitute teachers to hold a 3 or 5 year Colorado Substitute's license with a Bachelor's degree. Persons who hold a one-year substitute authorization or no license may apply to substitute as a substitute para-professional, secretary, custodian, or cook.
