The Primero Board of Education recently passed a community service addendum to the Graduation Policy. Students must complete 8 hours of community service each school to fulfill graduation requirements. Incoming freshman (class of 2013) must have a total of 32 hours to graduate. Class of 2012 must have 24 hours to graduate. Class of 2011 must have 16 hours to graduate and class of 2010 must have 8 hours. Primero School District would like to make this an adjoining experience for both the school and the community. I am looking for opportunities for our students to fulfill the obligation of community service. I will be setting up a community service bulletin outside my office. The bulletin will list non-school hours of opportunities for students to do this. Please understand that this is a non-paid experience. Please let me know if you have any opportunity to help them reach their target hours.
