DISTRICT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES (Board Policy ADA)

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF PRIMERO RE-2 SCHOOL DISTRICT

District Improvement Plan

The school's staff created a District Improvement Plan in April - May 2006, facilitated by education consultant, Dr. Morris Ververs, following accreditation reviews by the Colorado Department of Education. The plan was also reviewed by new superintendent, Gerald Gabbard, in May 2006 before it was submitted to CDE for approval. We are confident this plan will help us to continually enhance the quality of our instructional programming and levels of student achievement and performance. This plan is ongoing in its implementation and creation, a constant work in progress.

The goals for 2007-08 were adopted by the Board of Education in August 2007. The focus areas for 2007-2008 are:

  1. High expectations for all

  2. Communication, collaboration and cooperation

  3. Curriculum alignment with mapping

  4. Using data to making daily instructional decisions

  5. Literacy development PK-12, including DIBELS reading assessment K-3, the Rural Literacy Project grades 7-12, and Six Traits Writing district-wide

  6. Differentiation and Response to Intervention (RTI): meeting the needs of ALL learners

  7. Accreditation: developing benchmark assessments for non-CSAP tested areas
