APRIL 2007 PRIMERO RE-2 NEWS
April 27-29: Teachers Jude Martinez and Gerri Salazar lead a group of six secondary students to the 16th Annual La Raza Youth Leadership Conference in Denver. The students and staff returned to Primero energized by the sessions and inspired to form a group to attend the conference again in 2008!
April 27: Staff Development, 9 AM to 3 PM: Curriculum Mapping Calibration with trainer Mary Vedra of Colorado Springs CSAP Reading Scores for 3rd Grade are released to districts today. They are embargoed for public release until noon on May 3.

April 24: Special Board Meeting: Work Session Regarding Budget, 5 - 6 PM
April 17: Special Board of Education Meeting (Executive Session-Personnel) - 4:30 PM Action Items: The Board hired Patti Bailess and Crystal Haught to work as elementary teachers in Grades 3 and 4, respectively. On a sad note, the Board accepted the retirement of long-time 4th Grade teacher, Mrs. Linda Espinoza. The Board decided to hire the professional services of George K. Baum Company in Denver as an investment banking firm and bond company to help with a bond and mill levy override election plan for the November 2007 general election.
April 12: Staff Meeting, 7:00 AM
April 10: Board of Education Meetings 5:00 PM Work Session with Josh Magden of George K. Baum Company in Denver regarding bond campaigns and mill levy overrides - cafeteria 6:00 PM Regular Session - cafeteria The Board voted unanimously to rehire all probationary teachers, continuing contract teachers, and classified employees.
