May 3: Third Grade CSAP Reading Scores Continue to Soar at Primero! The Governors Office released Primeros 3rd Grade CSAP Reading scores for February 2007 at noon on May 3, 2007. The scores show continued improvement by our students and teachers. Reading and writing strategies have been major focal points for instructional interventions over the past few years in the district. The historical trend at Primero shows an increase of performance over the past three years. We have data extending back to 1999 when the test was first administered at Primero. The year 2002 was the first year all districts in Colorado were required to administer the 3rd Grade Reading Assessment annually.
Congratulations to Patricia Wedgle-Bailess, Third Grade Teacher, and all Grades PK-2 Teachers and Staff who helped to make the 3rd Grade students achievement a huge success: Shirley Duran, Grade 2; Dennis Espinoza, Grade 1; Denise Fernandez, Kindergarten; Lucille Naccarato, Tamara Gonzales, and Crystal Haught, Preschool; Roxann Fernandez, Reading; Kathy Ritz, Title I; Mary Turner and Maria Holdershaw, Special Education; Tammy Sproule, BOCES-Speech; Heidi Dasko, Guidance Counselor; and Bill Naccarato, Principal.
